How Our Online Triage System Works

We know our new online system may feel different. Here’s a quick guide to how it works and what it means for you.

How Triage Works:

  • Every request is reviewed the same day — this doesn’t always mean a same-day call or appointment.
  • The GP or nominated doctor decides the safest next step.

Submitting a Request:

  • Online form: 08:00–18:30 (Mon–Fri)
  • Use for: new concerns, ongoing conditions, medication queries, test results, admin requests
  • Urgent same-day requests: morning only until safe capacity is reached, then phone reception if urgent needs arise.

What Happens Next:

  • Reviewed by clinical staff
  • Next step decided by clinician: same-day call, advice, signposting, or routine follow-up
  • You’ll get a message or call confirming what happens

Response Times:

  • Urgent: same day
  • Routine/admin: within 2 working days

Safety:

  • Call 999 immediately if life-threatening or severe symptoms (chest pain, severe breathlessness, collapse, severe bleeding).
  • Call 111 if unsure, symptoms are concerning but not immediately life-threatening. They can advise the next steps.

Other Clinics:

  • Nurses, HCAs, GP Assistants etc. — book as usual

Why We Do This:

  • Ensures urgent cases seen quickly & keeps care safe for all
  • Reduces morning phone queues

If you can’t access the online form, phone us — we can submit a form for you.

Thank you for your patience.
